Welcome to New York Bar Exam
Hello, and welcome to my blog, New York Bar Exam! I'm not sure exactly what I'll be writing about, but with the project I've been working on for the past 7 months recently announced, I felt compelled to finally start one. Of course, it has taken me almost a week to get my blog up and running - more on that in future blog entries...
I have a lot of things to say in this new blog, but I am currently neck deep in finishing up my work on the New York Bar Exam. You'll have to wait for the details, but let me summarize in these words: Drink lots of liquids before you attempt to read my writeup, because you're going to lose a lot of drool. Read carefully the worth articles below...
How did you do on the bar exam?
I took it for the third time in Texas and FINALLY passed! I’m sort of ashamed that I got it by 14 points, though. Anyone else care to share their experiences?

Why is the US Citizenship test so easy? We need to make it more difficult?
Shouldn’t the test be more difficult so we can also be more selective?
Recently I picked up the Naturalization book (pamphlet) where there is 100 questions and answers about US History. I was disappointed to see how simple it was. Even a 5th grader can answer those questions.
I’m not trying to be an elitist, but we need to be more selective. Germany’s Citizenship exam is very difficult (I read it). You MUST learn ALL the names of their Peninsulas and so much more before becoming a citizen there.
Why can’t we have something similar? Instead of the “fast food” crash course that is offered. Our exam should be like passing a State Bar Exam… What do you think?

Mass. bar sued for gay marriage question?

Personally we should take this man out and have him put in front of a firing squad. Nerve of this man to be a lawyer already and then try to dop the system of funds. Would you all be in favor of taking this man out back and tar and feathering him. I would like to do more than that to this guy, but Im not allowed to say that in this question.
Guy is 30 and already has a lincence in another state. He goes to Mass state and takes the test and falls short of the 270 mark. I don’t know about you, but he should be sued and his lincense should be removed from all states. This guy travel to that state to take a test in that state. Seems like a big old set up to me, and to think he might get 9.75 million because its hard to fight then to just give up.
So, what is your take on this group.

I have a bit of dilemma? Please help! Race/Ethnicity problem?
Ok, let me start off buy saying this is my first time on yahoo answers so in advance thank you for all the answers.
I’ve been pushed by this dilemma ever since I was 12 I’m 19 now, I consider myself biracial (Swede/Black Mom and Finnish Dad) and I’ve always since the time I can remembered considered myself bi-racial. But lately (say the past 5 years) I’ve been getting some negative kind of feedback from people in public and even my dad’s side of the family because they consider me as white because I have blond hair and gray eyes. On one occasion 3 months ago I was applying for a job as a office clerk and for the job you didn’t have to be qualified for anything as long as you had your diploma and you had a little bit of experience. When I got the application of course for race/ethnicity I marked down Bi-Racial and Black/White categories. To make a long story short a couple of weeks later the hiring department called me back and told me to come in for a drug test and a eye exam when I got there I guess they had a pretty good idea who I was. When I checked in I told the receptionist my name and what I was there for and she looked at me up and down and she said was I sure that I was at the right place. Anyways, the company never called me back and I have a pretty good thought that it was because I consider myself as Bi-Racial female.
This has happened a lot of times another time was when I was at a bar and a young Hispanic male was saying something stereotypical about black people in general and I budged right into his conversation and told him that It was wrong about what he was saying about black people. He told me to mind my own business (excuse the language) ”WHITE HO” and that offended me to a boiling point because 1. He said something about blacks and me having black in me I found that very offensive, 2. He used a racial slur towards me (WHITE) and 3. He labeled me as a ho which I’m not. So he was being racist/sexiest at the same time. So I told him about both of my sides me being black/white, I guess he was drunk so he wasn’t understanding he just kept talking after that.
My dad family does not contact me AT ALL because of the fact I consider myself as a bi-racial woman.
So am I wrong for considering myself as a Bi-Racial woman even though I look like a white female?
Sorry for the long exhausted draggy story but this problem is consistent and I need answers. Ty!
OMG thank you EVERYONE for the GREAT answers!
You guys just don’t know how hard it is. I love my dad’s family but I will have to let them know. Even my dad tried to talk to his mother and she just hung up on him.

Which would be the best state to take the bar exam in?
… Texas or Georgia? I ask because I need to know which law school I should go to. My two top choices are Emory Law School and Thurgood Marshall Law School. Im completing my undergrad studies at Spelman College in Atlanta, but I don’t know which state I want to practice law in.
